German term
Wettbewerb der Standorte
German to English
Bus/Financial
What would be the appropriate translation for "Standorte" here?

competition between the (production) sites
"Standort" is the site (e.g. factory) of the company in a certain country. Several factors make production in Germany more expensive over Asian countries. That's why companies think of closing their sites in Germany and go to Asia, because labour and other costs are cheaper there. Hope this helps.

Comment: "Thanks. Your suggestion makes "Wettbewerb der Standorte" clear, though I prefer 'locations' to 'sites'
Thanks to the others as well."
