German term
offener Verbau
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Construction / Civil Engineering

: Why would you put in "sheeting" if the building does not have a basement and the site is provided to you with a 3 m (supposedly competent) fill? All you need is an "open excavation" for the building foundation slab and the utilities trenches.

Discussion
Exactly! If no "gesonderte Baugrubensicherung oder Wasserhaltung" is needed, where does the "sheeting" (Spundbohlen) come in?
