Hello everybody,
The sentence is from a text about central banks and their practice of hiking key rates in several stages. When the "trend" is upwards, it is an -erhöhungszyklus, otherwise a -senkungszyklus. I'm looking for a shortish
version in English.
Usual solution would probably be "cycle of interest rate hikes" or "cycle of key rate hikes". Any other ideas?

In the UK, in we usually talk about "base rates" rather than "key interest rates". This is the term you'll hear on the 6'O Clock news, or read in the papers. You'll find many newsy type googles if you searcb on ECB+"base rate" or many more (naturally) with "Bank of England"+"base rate" for example.
Don't think you'll get anything snappier than the above suggestions though.
