German term

EZ-Betrieb

German to English Marketing Food & Drink Brochure for a meatpacking plant
This is one of their claims to quality - that they are an EZ Betrieb. Does anyone know what EZ stands for?

Discussion

Mary Watson (asker) Oct 27, 2006:
German term - meat packing plant Yes, they use Zerlegungsbetrieb.

Darin Fitzpatrick Oct 27, 2006:
Zerlegungsbetrieb - so maybe that's the Z? Not likely to be either "Echtzeit" or "Erstzulassung." However, the veterinary registration numbers for meatpacking plants all seem to include "EZ." http://btl.bvl.bund.de/kategorie_dis.cfm?id=6
Kim Metzger Oct 27, 2006:
I might be on to something - but it would help if you gave me the German term for meatpacking plant.

cutting plant

Seems to be a general term, not sure what the German stands for.

Also not sure that it indicates special quality; it appears to be part of a licensing or registration mark.

See the website; other types of plants have other labels (ES = slaughterhouse, EV = processing, EVG = poultry cutting, etc.)
