Italian term

la Procura della Republica di Matera

Italian to English Law/Patents Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs Request letter for information on crime
I know that "la Procura della Republica di Matera" would normally be referring to the public prosecution offices, or possibly to the criminal records office. However, the presence of "Matera" and how it relates to the rest of term is confusing me. The context reads:

Prosecution Office of Matera

Matera is a city is south east Italy, so if the source is referring to the this city I would just use "of Matera".
Example sentence:

Prosecution office of Matera

Matera prosecution office
