Italian term

scomponibile

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial general term
*brand name*: bobina scomponibile a sgancio-aggancio automatico.

It is a caption for a photo in a brochure.
Comprehension is not the problem it is a "reel that can be disassembled and assembed with automatic attachment and release"
Does anybody know a shorter phrase than "can be... .. assembled"

Glad you found it Jim! You're always a good challange! Have a fantastic day! :o) Rosy
James (Jim) Davis (asker) Feb 2, 2007:
Found it Thanks for the help. Everybody but I have found, what must be used:
"take apart reels". The Italian company has a US subsidiary with their own web site and that's what they call them, so it has to be that. Obviously though, scomponibile has no easy translation.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't really see what's wrong with the fact that the source I've cited is an advertising brochure?
Note from asker:
If it were a patent I wouldn't worry, but its an advertising brochure
The source you cited is a patent by the address. My translation is a brochure. Disjointable sounds like something from the Spanish Inquisition.

1 hr

disassemblable

Maybe this will help Jim..check it out. :o)

Also some suggestions for the rest..
"with quick on/off automatic attachment"or with "automatic quick connect"(quick connect/disconenct is widely used in fittings lingo)
"with automatic hook-up"
From the wikepedia link listed below:

There are two types of rotors:

disassemblable (zerlegbar) rotors, used with M-125-3MN. Rotorset name is "PROTON." The disassemblable rotors consisted of an insert with electrical contacts and scramble wiring, and an outer ring with mechanical pins whose presence or absence controlled rotor stepping. As part of the key setup, the stepping control pins could be rotated relative to the outer ring. The inner, electrical ring could also be rotated relative to the outer ring and could be inserted in one of two ways, with side 1 or side 2 up.
Note from asker:
Thanks for the help Rosy, but I've found the client's term. and this should be closed.
