Hi! I am translating a legal text from the Republic of San Marino and I'm unsure on the phrase 'Adozione Decreto Delegato'. My best attempt so far has been 'Adoption of Executive Order' but I'm not sure adoption works here. Could anyone confirm if this is correct or not?
Thanks.

EUREKA MEMBER > SAN MARINO
"Guided by the conviction that Research & Development are powerful tools for promoting national economic growth, the Republic of San Marino joined EUREKA in 2005. In 2006, it adopted the first law on promoting industrial research (Law no. 19 of 27 January 2006) and sub-decrees on EUREKA research projects and national research projects (Delegated Decree no. 129 of 1 December 2006 and Delegated Decree no. 126 of 10 March 2008, respectively)."

Adoption of executive order
You are right. Delegated legislation is enacted by a government minister in accordance with statutory authorisation. Secondary legislation has different names in different places, legislative decree in Italy, statutory instrument in the UK, but the common feature is the fact that they are issues by the executive rather than the legislature.

There are various ways of putting it by the way, executive regulation, government order, ministerial decree or combinations of these. The concept however remains the same.

As for adoption, it is ok, you may say so. Adoption of a decree for the implementation of Government act is common enough.
