proximity sensors
Hi Sarah
I have often seen "proximity sensors" or "proximity switches" (same difference) referred to using variations on the theme of "prossimiti" in Italian. A proximity sensor is a switch that changes status when it approaches (or is approached by) a metal object - i.e. no contact is needed, unlike microswitches. I think they must be talking about 'em here.
