To the Asker: Do you realise that the answer you selected isn't what the original means?

Sure, they are somewhat related (especially in the context of Northrop Grumman and the likes) but it's not the same. For instance, the company I currently work for has its own security department but we do not do any classified work whatsoever and I highly doubt our department can or is legally able to handle work like that. The same goes for any large hotel for that matter, library, casino - you name it.

Режимно-секретное подразделение on the other hand not only handles such work and related issues routinely, it's the very reason for its existence!

To be fair, the term itself is a Soviet times linguistic abomination but that doesn't make it a Security Department in the way most readers would understand it.

In view of Mr KB's criticism, note that the translation suggested here is the shortest but not the only and most precise one.
In particular, "government security compliance department" (not "official SCD") may be better suited to the specific context
e.g., see

Example sentence:

Visitors may be approved to access Northrop Grumman facilities through authorization from your company element Security Department

All requests which pertain to a classified contract or proprietary project should be referred without delay, together with proposed reply, to the Company Security Department

Security service

Режимно-секретное подразделение - 1-st Department (1-й отдел) at the facilities or organizations dealing with dangerous materials and/or classified information, in Soviet Union those were KGB guys, now in Russia - FSB. Here a private company offers security services to the institutions that do not have their own security subdivisions

"Режимно-секретное подразделение" sounds like a department in a company, rather than a facility.

Official security compliance department (office)

- You can't just say "security service(s)" which may include things like private guards. "Режимно-секретное подразделение" isn't it.

- This is/was run by government organisations and historically dealt with government/official regulations regarding classified information access and handling.

- This is why I believe the words "official" and, especially, "compliance" are necessary here.
