Street performance
The difference is subjective. There are street shows or street performances that do not require audience participation (traditional spectacle, puppet theatre, etc.) and street performances that take the whole audience along: for these latter, Spanish street performers sought to establish a difference by calling it "espectáculo de animación (callejera)" (Cf., Fura dels Baus, Els Comediants, etc.). But since ALL performances require a certain extent of audience participation (the parameters are subjective, as I have said), the common understanding is that there is no difference. Theatre professionals may prefer to establish one.

Here are several possibilities:
1. Espectáculo callejero: Street performance.
2. ...de animación: Lively street shows. (Street entertainment)
3. or Bustling street performance.
Hope it helps

Hi,
There is no difference at all.
Both are exactly the same thing.
Just two different denominations.

steet show or street animation
I agree with FIRST-RATE answer but in my opinion the best translation into English is street show...
espectaculo de animación callejera translated literaly is animation street show
and animación acllejera is steet animation or street show
both mean the same in the end...

STREET EVENT / STREET FESTIVAL
Since ECAPELAO does not like my answer, I must insist that STREET EVENT is the way these events are called here in the USA, where I live.
There is another expression here in the USA and that is STREET CARNIVAL,STREET FESTIVAL but the most common is STREET EVENT.
Regards,:)

Street show
Hello. i think everyone is +/- right here in their translations. Would help to know what kind of street show (or whatever!) you're talking about. Terms may change...Just another thing and "rizando el rizo". Doesn't "espectáculo callejero" sound a little funny to you guys...like a downer. As in: "¡Qué vergüenza de hijo, nos ha dado un espectáculo callejero!". Just in case I would go for "espectáculo de animación callejera" if what you want is "street show (or whatever!!)". Or "espectáculo al aire libre". Happy weekend to all,

"Street performance"
HI:
Since we don't know what kind of show
is it, PERFORMANCE is a more ample
terminology.
I also agree with "Street Show", if we are talking, e.g. about Mardi Gras.

community theatre
I used to work for a community theatre company in Britain and if this is the sort of show where you get local people involved it could well be "Community theatre show" Certainly we were referred to as "animatuers" by the arts council people - to separate us from REAL artists and performers ;-)
Otherwise I would say "Street performance with audience participation" - because that's the essential difference between a straight street performance and one that includes that vital word "animation" - though at Covent Garden etc, the lines blurr.
Good Luck:
