Spanish term
Solamente una vez
Spanish to English
Art/Literary
This is the title of a very popular song and my good friend here in Guadalajara who sings and plays the guitar asked me if I could find the English lyrics. I would be grateful if someone could tell me where the English lyrics can be found on the Internet.

Solamente una vez
Music and Spanish Lyrics by AGUSTIN LARA
English Lyrics by RAY GILBERT
So - la - men - teu - na vez---- a me-en la vi - da;----
You belong to my heart----now and foever----
So - la - men - teu - na vez---- y na - da mas----
And our love had it's start----not long a go----
U - na vez na - da mas en mi huer - to , bri - llo la es - pe - ran -za;----
We are gathering stars while a million guitars played our love song;----
la es - pe - ran - za que a - lum - bra el ca - mi - no de mi so - le - dad.----
When I said "I love you," every beat of my heart said it too.----
U - na vez na - da mas----se en - tre - ga el al - ma,----
'Twas a moment like this,----do you remember?
con la del - cey to - tal----re - nun - cia - cion----
And your eyes threw a kiss----when they met mine;----
Y cuan - doe - se mi - la - gro rea - li - za el pro - di - gio dea - mar - se ;----
Now we own all the stars and a million guitars are still playing ;----
hay cam - pa - nas de fies - ta que can - tan en el co - ra -zon.----
Darling, you are the song and you'll always belong to my heart.----

personal opinion
Sorry I did not understand your question before....
I would recommend your friend to understand the meaning of this great song and then.... re-invent or re-write it in English.... or simply learn how to sing it in Spanish. If he translates it, then he will destroy it!!! In my opinion, there is nothing nastier than listening to translated songs on the radio. As a good example, I can remember now the beautiful song "It's impossible" which was titled in Spanish as "Somos Novios" (We are sweet-hearts), by its author Armando Manzanero. Both lyrics have nothing to do with one another....
Hope this will help.
