GOO LUCK!
ownership
Hope it helps!
How about "holder"?
Good luck,
Claudia
Title
The Chairman shall hold the title to the shares in the name of....
Title in the shares is reserved to the holder and immediate family members....
John holds shares in .....
I say title, because to 'own' refers to something concrete (a house , car etc).
And 'hold' is synonymous to 'own' but is more appropriate of paper that represents an ownership. It's more usual as a verb.
PS Keith: if you gave contextual sentences it would be far easier than for contributors to be trying to double guess and think of a range of synonyms!
Titularity.
(The word is of Latin origin).
