Hi,

This is probably a neverending story but nevertheless, as of early 2010, is there a way of importing a set of .iix, .mdf, .mtf, .mwf, .tmw files (appearing to be the new Trados format for TMs) into TMX or anything readable by either Wordfast or any (preferably free) conversion tool - without paying for Trados?

Former versions of WordFast (3.35x) allowed to open the native TRADOS TM format (tmw) as WF memory and then exporting it as TMX (1.1)


You can download a suitable version from www.wordfast.org

Does it mean I'd have to install an older version of MS Office than the one I'm currently using (2007)?

...can be used with Word 2007 with no problem.

Wordfast can not open new TMW files Feb 17, 2010

WordFast (3.35x) was able open and convert Trados 5.5 tmw files, but there are changes in the TMW format, so it is not possible to open Trados 2007 tmw file with Wordfast.
