Teniendo en cuenta que la mezcla de "pre-embedding" se polimeriza, y por tanto queda incluida en un bloque de materia plástica, la traducción es "encapsulado". "pre-embedded" será, pues, "preencapsulado".

Acabo de mirar el Diccionario de Navarro, y dice:
embedment (o embedding) = inclusión:
parafin embedding o parafin embedment = Inclusión en parafina
Lo de "inclusión" o "incluido/a" es un término habitual en España en el ámbito del laboratorio histológico o anatomopatológico y de los médicos en general.
