I thought that условно already meant suspended sentence in the sense of probation that could be terminated for various reasons. What does с испытательным сроком add to this?

You are right. This sentence is redundant. A 1,5 of probation would be sufficient. A license can be "suspended" but an offender receives a "probation."

agree Olga Rbl : This guy has not been imprisoned. he got a probabtion sentence meaning he never went to jail. He could be released in parole though but he never been in jail in the first place.

neutral Olga Cartlidge : I agree with Olga - he can t get out on parole unless he goes to prison in the first place. Parole is only granted to people who ve done some time in prison.
