Explanation:
Iridium è il nome di un consorzio di aziende del settore Telecom - Aerospaziale, che hanno inviato in orbita dei satelliti che permettono le comunicazioni telefoniche dai posti più sperduti. Anche se la società è fallita, il sistema viene ancora utilizzato. E' stato soppiantato da Globastar, che usa altri satelliti ed ha le stesse finalità.
Quindi lascerei "telefoni Iridium"

Effettivamente, l\'elaborazione a bordo e commutare (efficacemente la misura dell\'equivalente di un centralino specializzato del telefono su un satellite) già sono impiegate in satelliti che forniscono le comunicazioni mobili alle riceventi tenute in mano. Uno di nuova generazione dei sistemi satelliti mobili (iridio) impiega le comunicazioni della Ka-fascia per i collegamenti fra le stazioni a terra fisse che collegano le reti telefoniche commutate pubbliche ai satelliti. Tuttavia, i collegamenti fra i satelliti e le riceventi tenute in mano sono in L-fascia. Un certo numero di sistemi di GSO MSS in sviluppo inoltre usano OBP e commutazione.

\"Iridio\" could be a color, but not in this context, IRIDIO is a new technology, modern satellite communications system, the name has been taken from the chemical element... It is like Platinum member by Proz. Platinum is a chemical element, but a category as well. :-)

sei sicuro che si tratta di un colore? Iridium è anche un sistema di telefoni asatellitare...
L'iridio - dal Latino iris, iridis (arcobaleno) - è, in condizioni standard, un metallo molto duro dall'aspetto argenteo simile al platino anche se talvolta si osservano dei riflessi gialli.
