Here is a report of the powwow in Rio de Janeiro on October 21st, 2004. We thank Tom�s Rosa Bueno and Proz.com for helping us get together.
It was held at C�rculo Militar, a cozy restaurant overlooking the Sugar Loaf, a landmark of Rio, and the ocean. Fourteen translators were present (in alphabetical order):

It was a great opportunity for us, who usually work in solitude, to meet colleagues from such different backgrounds, to forge links in a real sense of community among linguists, and possibly to work together in the near future.
In a convivial way, many issues affecting the translation game in Brazil were discussed. We parted with the hope of new meetings like this one soon.
