How do I get rid of these stupid balloons? Thread poster: Stuart Allsop
|
While I'm sure Proz is duly proud to have reached 2 million questions, I do NOT see why that should screw up our ability to view the ANSWERS to those 2 million questions, due to the dozens of psychedelic balloons that are currently obscuring all of the Proz windows that I happen to have open! How do I block them? Very annoying. ( sorry for being a wet-blanket spoil-sport, but I'm trying to work here, and the balloons are getting in my way.... )

There are several solutions: 1) Prick them using a virtual needle. 2) Ask the site administrator to turn off the animation.
If you're using Firefox with Adblock extension, just add a filter to block http://www.proz.com/js/balloons.js - that's what I did and the site is back to normal for me now.

Seriously, the balloons will disappear in a bit! AAhhhhhhhhh!!! That's MUCH better! Thanks Henry! Your "virtual needle" worked like a charm! Please thank the devs for their great needle-work skills. All they need to do now is come up with a virtual broom to virtually sweep up the thousands of bits of virtual rubber scraps that are lying all over the desk under my monitor!

Thanks Howard and Matthias. Can you try hitting F5, to see if this removes the balloons from your cache? Jared
