Alessandra Renna Sep 10, 2007:
caregiving ok. Ma burden ha una connotazione troppo negativa. Load o capacity forse. Mi viene anche workflow
schizzo68 (X) (asker) Sep 10, 2007:
In realtà inizialmente avevo pensato ad un "caregiving burden" ma non so se in questo caso sarebbe appropriato..
Alessandra Renna Sep 10, 2007:
care load

agree Francesco D'Arcangeli : It's ok, but maybe "nursing" refers only to female nurses (that is just a doubt of mine...)

I'm quite sure it doesn't ;)...anyway, I'm talking about nursing (see the definition below)... thanks for agree!
neutral Alessandra Renna : sorry! but nursing refers only to nurses. Here it refers to the care provided by the hospital/Ok! but here "assistenziale" doesn't refer only to staff'work

staff workload

Here "carico assistenziale" means the overall workload of the hospital staff related to nursing, support and assistance. It increases with patient number and patient age because older patients require more care. The "nursing load" solution is ok but maybe "staff" may include also paramedics and other staff.

If you give a positive connotation, you can also say "care capacity"

agree Monia Di Martino : Sono più per questa espressione. In inglese "Care" si usa molto in ambiente sanitario, "nursing" mi sembra troppo specifico.
