Italian term
MDC
Italian to English
Medical
Medical (general)
neuroradiology
This abbreviation is in a report of a neuroradiology exam -- the complete phrase, which is the heading above a paragraph that describes the findings, reads: 'RM sella turcica senza e con MDC'.
As I do my research, I find 'mezzo di contrasto'. Is this what MDC would be in this context, or is there another possible phrase for this abbreviation? (And RM is 'risonanza magnetica' - yes?) Grazie a tutti.

Contrast Agent/Medium
MDC is indeed mezzo di contrasto, which is contrast agent or contrast medium in English (both terms are used: in the plural, "agents" is far more common than "media").
However, in this case you'd say "with and without contrast" (this is true for any technique, not just MRI). Also worth noting that the standard phrase for an examination performed with contrast agent is "contrast-enhanced".

Yes, it's referring to contrast medium. We often say unehnaced and enhanced MRI.
