An unexpected choice of word in the context -- could they simply mean that it can be adjusted or configured in some way to cover a wide range of speeds?

Discussion
I reviewed dozen of sites dealing with sailing, boards, windsurf and kitesurf i.e. the products for which evolutive is used in French texts. I also checked bi/trilingual French sites hoping to find the English correspondent
BUT
1 - meaning - evolutive is used in an ambiguous way, compatible both with "evolved"/ high level & high performance item and with "evolving"/able to perform well in different situation;
2 - translation - ahahah this is the best part! In the English sections of the polylingual sites 'evolutive' just *disappears*. The item and its performance are described with no more mentioning of the 'evolutive' feature...
:)
