"multidisciplinary" sounds good, but where do you fit in the "sehr," i.e., experts from very different fields/backgrounds.

E.g.:
"die bisher zu der sehr heterogenen Gruppe der benachteiligten, bildungsfernen
Jugendlichen zählen"

I agree with not using "heterogenous," but what about "highly diverse"?

And frankly, I think they mean "teams" here. What do you think, Gavin?

Anytime. "Runden" can be short for "Gesprächsrunden" if that helps some.

The Duden version:

It may also be fine to say "a small/select group of." I just figured using "session" would already indicate that there can't be another 100 people attending :)

In this context, "Runden" means brainstorming sessions involving people from different fields (heterogen = heterogenous).

(bit more literal: round-table talks)
