Personally I think this means your client is risking using some other organisation's proprietary motto. I would ask the client exactly what they want, alerting them to the possible implications.

Asker Is there a specific need for you to translate the motto? Is this simply for understanding only or does your client need to actually use a French version of the motto? If you are simply translating a letter on which the motto appears on the heading, my inclination would be to leave it in English. A motto is effectively the hospital's "proprietary" statement, a bit like its name, i.e. effectively akin to a proper noun, and thus not really to be translated.
