Aug 26, 2012 21:04: Sheila Wilson changed "Level" from "PRO" to "Non-PRO"

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (3): cc in nyc, Lara Barnett, Sheila Wilson

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

@ All Must say for a Sunday evening, you're all on the ball. Lively chit-chat at the end of the week is always a good omen.
Merci to everyone. Must go and check out flights for quick break in Portugal or Italy or somewhere.
Sheila Wilson Aug 26, 2012:
Then where does it go, Bashiqa? Into Scottish hair, of course! My Oxford defines claggy as "tending to form sticky lumps". Not something I have to worry about with my fine hair, but it was a constant problem for a school-friend. Mind you, I'm not sure they'd invented shampoo in those days, let alone conditioner. :) Just seen that you're up to speed, cc, but maybe others aren't.
cc in nyc Aug 26, 2012:
@ Sheila OK, I just googled "clag" and "hair." Yuck! Wrong end!
Bashiqa (asker) Aug 26, 2012:
@ Sheila Always thought the 'clag' came down over the Scottish moorland!!
Sheila Wilson Aug 26, 2012:
Duh! :-) Clag, cc, not clog! Drains do get clogged more easily with clagged hair, though. I suppose it's the aircon that gets clogged with the fine, fly-away sort.
cc in nyc Aug 26, 2012:
@ Sheila I would use "clog" for drains rather than for hair – especially those clogged with hair.
Lara Barnett Aug 26, 2012:
@ Asker Which but was the issue you risked coming to blows on?
Sheila Wilson Aug 26, 2012:
Moisturises hair without clagging it But it doesn't seem too "marketing", does it?
Bashiqa (asker) Aug 26, 2012:
@ DLyons Merci beaucoup!!
DLyons Aug 26, 2012:
The main thing to remember is that your wife is right (especially if she's wrong).

neutral cc in nyc : technically correct but a bit "heavy" // My previous comment was for "hydration" and was written before your "Note" was visible. In any case, "moisturizes hair" is *not* the same exact answer as "moisturizing of the hair

I don't understand. Why did you offer the exact same answer, 5 minutes later? Did you not read my answer?
neutral Sheila Wilson : I really don't think hydrate would work // I did read it all - that's why I didn't disagree with "hydration" (though I do). Your alternative was posted at the same time as another so neither is/was first. It really isn't about "first past the post"

It is important to read entire entry before criticizing. I provided reference for the correct answer, and I did it first.

moisturizes without weighing the hair down

Often the quality of volume-building shampoos and conditioners - they don't weigh your hair down.

A golfball-sized dollop of hair mousse can give you the hold, volume and definition that you want without weighing your hair down or causing it to look heavy or greasy.
