French term

volet

French to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
This has been driving me mad for the last two days! I've considered lots of possibilities (part, section, phase, etc.) but none seem to fit the context(in a software license agreement):
"le Projet comprend trois volets : un volet "E-business", un volet "European centralised platform" et un dernier volet de "customised platform"."
Again "Dans le cadre du volet "European Centralised platform" le droit d'usage concédé ..."
oe "le client doit indiquer : le nom du volet ..."
Any ideas?

Discussion

Conor McAuley Dec 3, 2004:
Strand is good.
Robert Frankling Dec 2, 2004:
"volet" is a word that has several concordants in English and there lies your difficulty. Have you considered using a different term in the various contexts?

strand

While Bourth's "components" and CMJs "areas" are fine, note that "strands" is becoming popular in just this sort of "part of project" context. Try googling "project strands" and see what you think.

Hi Jackie! This is not my area of expertise, but it seems as if "options" would fit here since they can choose which one they want. Karen
