Difficult to put into context but basically it's a text which explains how we only want something because others want the same thing.
Two identical triangles will thus cling to one another in opposite directions. As desire flows faster and faster between the two rivals, its intensity increases with each reciprocal movement. We have a subject mediator and a mediator subject, a model disciple and a disciple model, each imitating the other while affirming the priority and the precedence of their own desire, each one seeing in the other an extremely cruel persecutor. The more intense the hatred, the closer it brings us to the hated rival. Everything suggested to one is suggested to the other, including the desire to be different at any price.

Two identical triangles overlap each other in opposite directions.
If you do it on paper, the shape is a star of David, in fact...two equilateral triangles, for example, where angles of one intersect the lines of the other.
Actually, you are going to think that I am nuts perhaps, but I think the two triangles would have to be identical and at a certain distance apart for the process you describe to occur....like in a mirror...
if the points stick out like in a star of David, then the rivalry factor is not so great....IMO, :)

Comment: "this is the one the client preferred. I like the star of David idea Jane. Thanks."

two identical but reversed triangles will thus be placed on top of each other
Surely it is the idea of back-to-back?

: if they are reversed, they are not back to back..anyway, triangles don't have a back side in geometry...

this is not geometry. It is the idea of placing two triangles on top of each other that are identical except perhaps for the direction in which they are facing. Think 3-D

trouble is, I'm not sure exactly what he means here. I'll speak to the client this afternoon and ask how he visualises it.
