Believe this or not...ha ha..
Meaning: bias edging means that the material looks pretty and fits snugly Around Something..so there are no little tucks in the material.. if you have ever tried to put an edge...a French seam for example..[:)] around something that is not straight, it comes out all icky if you don't cut the edging fabric on the bias...ho hum..seem to remember my sewing.....

: I think not piping - that's a folded piece of fabric that sticks out from a seam - may or may not contain a cord//makes a tube - can be filled or empty :-)
