Italian term

profondita (in this context)

Italian to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
Project for the building of a park/public gardens set around a military cemetery. I would have thought "width", but perhaps I'm missing something... the area of the park is not flat, but hilly - would this explain the use of "profondità"? Thanks!

Definietly "surrounds it with a width" unless there are any *clear* signs of talk about digging and foundations and elevation.

depth

Measurements are always quoted as height(H), Width(W) and depth(D). I think using width here could be misleading.

e.g.

Rusted Iron Pergola
Create a walkway in the garden. Plant with roses, honeysuckle, clematis or sweet peas for a scented walkway – a dramatic addition to the garden. Send measurements of the height, width and depth so that we can quote you a price.

agree Mary Carroll Richer LaFlèche : 'profondità' is depth, 'larghezza' is width
