Italian term

prezzo di carico

Italian to English Bus/Financial Finance (general)
I've seen the other kudoz ref, but I suspect this is a different use of the term. It crops up in a banking group report in the paragraph on dividends, which:

I believe the prezzo di carico is basically the share price incuding taxes/brokers fees, etc., but I can't find the term for that in English. Unless it simply means that the reduction in the company's assets entails a devaluation of the holding, full stop?

carrying value-book value

it means just that I think

the value of the companies are reduced and therefore the companies that are carrying such holdings in their books shall have to devalue accordingly

Total price, total value

Maybe this explanation will help you:

At cost

Hi Deborah. I think this is a sort of minor error in the Italian, because you can't reduce the "prezzo di carico" after an acquisition (exept with earnouts and things like that). The author should have put "valore di carico" The asset will have been recognised at cost, which would be the price paid plus accessory costs. This carrying amount is now being written down. Would help to know if these "partecipazioni" are subsidiaries, associates etc.
Note from asker:
Thanks Jim, that makes a lot more sense - I'm sorry, I only have an excerpt, I can't give any more info about the participazioni (which I have simply put as holdings).
