Discussion

Rafael Sousa Brazlate Aug 28, 2014:
@Muriel, thanks for your comments. That is the kind of attention I believe we must have when researching terminology, because similar actions in different contexts may be referred to by different names.
Muriel Vasconcellos Aug 28, 2014:
@Rafael Yes, 'recruitment' would work for clinical trials. In this case, they are trying to find the patients so they can treat them. I've done a lot of work related to 'capturing' tuberculosis patients.
Rafael Sousa Brazlate Aug 28, 2014:
I thought of "recruitment of patients", but it seems to be used for clinical trials only.

agree Mario Freitas : "Capture" sounds a bit weird, as it looks like they're gonna setup traps to catch their patients, but your references are reliable, and as I mentioned above, I trust your expertise.

Prospect to patient

Just a suggestion. See the example below:

Prospect to patient: how to convert website visitors into loyal patients

Your website serves many purposes. It provides your patients with around-the-clock education about dental health; it increases awareness about the services you offer; and it helps improve efficiencies in the office by reducing calls and streamlining paperwork. But above all, your website’s primary objective should be to convert visitors into loyal patients.
When visitors arrive at your site, you only have a few minutes to make a good first impression and gain their trust. Here are a few tips for turning those first-time visitors into referring patients.

Social Media, Viral Videos Help Researchers Find Patients With Rare Diseases For Clinical Trials
http://www.medicaldaily.com/social-media-viral-videos-help-r...

Overall, rare disease patients use online resources to connect, for support in their diagnoses, to compare treatment notes and to participate in research studies. Physicians and researchers use online connections to find patients and collaborate on treatment plans
http://blog.sermo.com/2014/06/16/how-the-internet-helps-rare...

But patient groups have typically already done the hard work of attracting the relevant patients. When Bartek helped Edison Pharmaceuticals find patients for its latest Phase 2 trial of its drug for Friedreich’s ataxia, it took only two hours and 43 minutes

Before a potential new treatment can be approved, it must be tested in clinical trials. It is often difficult to find patients to volunteer in clinical trials, and rare diseases pose an even greater challenge.
