Spanish term

te extraño como el orto

FVA Spanish to English Other General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters
I am looking to confirm that I am understanding the meaning of this phrase correctly in order to render it in English with the proper register and tone.

This is part of a text message thread where the person sending this message is trying to convince their ex-partner to get back together and repeats a few times that they miss and love their ex.

I have not come across this word before, and my online search tells me this could be translated as "sunrise", but I'm leaning towards the definition coming from Argentina and Uruguay which can be used a few different ways, according to my search this can be used to mean:
1)la cola o trasero de una persona
2)tener suerte
3)algo desagradable

My initial instinct is to translate it as "I fucking miss you" since the word 'orto' appears to be somewhat vulgar, however, since I'm unfamiliar with how strong/vulgar this word is, maybe "I miss you like hell", which in general I feel is a slightly 'softer' tone than the first translation, but I'm unsure how "strong" of a word I should be using in English ('fucking' or 'like hell') because I don't know how the word "orto" is perceived by people who use it colloquially.

Thank you in advance for you input!

Quite Vulgar I'm a native Porteño. The word is quite vulgar... say 8 on a scale of 10. I'd go with your initial instinct.

I fucking miss you, I miss you as fuck

Typically Argentinian = orto = ass

agree Carlos Teran : I did my University studies in Buenos Aires, and I definitely believe "like fuck". Orto is vulgar. And "fuck" is a proper American localization.
