But what does matter is the target audience. Is this intended for people employed in the hospitality industry or for the general public? Here in the U.S., I doubt the general public would understand "PAX", but someone employed in the hospitality industry might - although during the years that I worked with Marriott and other hotel chains, the only time I recall coming across PAX was when conversing with our agents in Latin America.
So I guess it rally depends on what exactly it is that he is translating and for whom it is intended.

Contexto ¿Cuál es el contexto exacto? Si va dirigido a los agentes de viaje o del hotelería, tal vez endenderían lo de PAX, pero si va dirigido al público en general, lo de PAX no se entendería, al menos no en EE.UU. - lo cual me lleva al siguiente punto: ¿Se trata del inglés estadounidense, británico, otro?
