But I happened a couple of times to issue the invoice and forget to send it... | | | Tatty Local time: 03:17 Spanish to English + ...
I work for money so forgetting to invoice a client would be a big failing on my part. To make life easier for myself, I invoice every job after I have finished it. It takes me a maximum of 5 minutes tops. | | | Vera Schoen Sweden Local time: 03:17 Member (2008) German to Swedish + ...
Only once. I had tons of work, sent the translation, but forgot to invoice. A few days later I received a very kind reminder from the PM. So, no harm done!

For me, the client only became aware after I had asked him to check the payment was underway - it turned out he had never received an invoice, so was unaware there should be a payment underway. All resolved in a friendly and professional way, after an apology from me. | | | Helen Hagon Local time: 02:17 Member (2011) Russian to English + ...
I have a terrible memory, so I make a habit of always sending the invoice with the completed translation. | | | I send it with the translation delivery | Oct 10, 2013 |
When the work is ready, I prepare a "delivery" Zip which contains the translated file(s) and the invoice in PDF format. This way, I don't forget the invoice

I am absolutely terrible about paperwork, just the thought makes me incredibly desperate to do anything else It is really daft, but there you go. Certainly wouldn't have lasted the course in bookkeeping that I started about a millenium ago! Still I manage to get around to the invoices at some point, usually when my accountant reminds me So long as the c... See more | | | Mario Chavez (X) Local time: 21:17 English to Spanish + ... I forgot to bill a certain good client on at least one occasion. When I got the check in the mail, I couldn't find its matching invoice...so I emailed my client. I felt pretty embarrassed for having had a simple invoice slip my mind. | | | Noura Tawil Syria Local time: 04:17 Member (2013) English to Arabic Administration | Oct 10, 2013 |
I would love to hear details about the system that some of you follow to keep track of the invoicing tasks (Issuing invoices and checking if they're received on time). I usually delay sending my invoices for a few days, in case the client needs small amendments or tiny additional tasks, it all goes into a single invoice. | | | Julian Holmes Japan Local time: 10:17 Member (2011) Japanese to English Yes, once or twice | Oct 10, 2013 |
Because the customers's website or billing rules were so clumsy or complicated. Once invoiced, twice shy.

But I sent it once I remembered. Now I have my beloved board! All my projects go on the whiteboard, which is separated into active invoices, invoices I need to send, active projects, and my monthly goal (and there's a note on there from my wife reminding me that I need to do some exercise). I haven't forgotten anything since I started using it and I love having all my information right above my computer. | | | Pages in topic: [1 2] > | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » Poll: Have you ever forgotten to issue an invoice?
