What was to be a “free flowing chat” between 10-15 people was not possible with 51 people attending. So please excuse me if I was sometime very directive :-)
Special thanks to Louis Huo, ProZ member, Wendy and Derek, from N.E Courtyard Hotel, who helped me a lot with the Powwow organization.

General discussion about the following topics:
How to advertise oneself?
How to develop working relationships with companies and freelance agencies?
Rates and quality: in general and in China.
Are translations' agencies useful or not?
We were lucky enough to have attendees from all sides of the language business: starting and established translators, interpreters, language students and translation agencies, so that the exchange of ideas and experiences were quite interesting.

Thanks for organizing the event, Dominique! Really great to see so many colleagues in real life and the wonderful smiles radiating from the faces of our fellow translators and interpreters! Looking forward to next gathering!
Hi everyone!
First of all, thank you, Dominique, for organizing this powwow! It was great to see the faces behind the names. I definitely picked up some interesting ideas too. Unfortunately, I did not get to talk to everyone, so I really hope we can get together again soon. Did anyone take any pictures? I had brought my camera but then totally forgot about it. It would be great to get copies of the pictures!
Hope to see you all soon!

The updates to the menu were made to make the site easy and more intuitive for visitors. Obviously, like any change, this may take a few days to get used to.
The dropdown menus have been divided into two-dimensional panels with similar items grouped together under headings. This eliminates scrolling for those with smaller screens, and also improves readability.
Mouseover your name at the top of the screen. Here you will find information about your account, your email settings, and more. The "My ProZ.com" menu was moved up here to simplify the main navigation, and to keep all of this type of information together.
