A major French corporation I've worked for uses the term "Métier"/"Discipline" for the various elements of its project teams (e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, I&C, Costing, etc.).

: I think this applies in the context you cite, but not as part of a company. Métier applied to a person can be discipline or vocation, to a company, business line, activity, industry, sector, etc.

In the specific case I mentioned, the term "métier" was used almost as a synonym of "department" or "office". The in-house English term for this was "discipline" as stated above.
