I am translating a document related to information security, and a couple of the definitions include a use of the word "contabilidad" that puzzles me:
1) Gestión de activos – contabilidad en la protección de activos de información
2) Control de acceso – contabilidad para el acceso a recursos de información
Has anyone seen the word used in this context? I have a feeling it has to do more keeping a record of things, than "accounting", but I do not know if I am in the right track.
Any help is appreciated.

As your text concerns security, I think that "contabilidad" is more likely to be related to the "gestión" and "control" used in points 1 and 2 and is perhaps used as a synonym for these terms.
