French term or phrase:
Brevet n° xxxx
English translation:
Brevet (single deed issued as an original) No. xxxx
French term
Brevet n°
Clearly it does not mean "patent"
The number has been left blank, so no clues there
Could it be the the notary's registration number?

Article 2004, Code Civil
A principal may revoke his power of attorney when he pleases and compel, if there is occasion, the agent to return to him, either the instrument under private signature which contains it, or the original of the power of attorney, where it has been delivered without being recorded, or the office copy, where the original has been kept

: except 'écrit sous seing privé' is conventionally called, in the UK at least, a 'document under hand' vs. a deed or instrument engrossed under (notarial etc.) seal - and of which, even if a lone deed, traditionally a 'counterpart' is issued.

Dahl: "Contract [?] delivered by [notaire] in original"
Would either or a mix of both work as a translation?
