See "tense, distended abdomen" for example. It is not the same as "abdominal rigidity" which suggests muscle spasm as a response to peritoneal irritation. Here the abdomen is "tight like a drum" because of the distention.

For Svetlana, here are a lot of distended abdomens that are not supposed to be soft but apparently are. Strange, no?

: it might be a standard term, but not the translation of "peu dépressible". An abdomen that is "dépressible" is soft. An abdomen can be soft AND distended. "Volumineux" suggests distention. "Peu dépressible" means the abdomen is not soft./you're a doctor?
