German term

als Standort

Non-PRO German to English Other Possible Idiom
"Und seit wann gehört die "ABC GmbH" als Standort Österreich zur XYZ-Gruppe?"

This is alluding to an article in a past issue of a company's staff magazine. I don't understand what they mean by "als Standort" here. Is it just "located in Austria"? TIA for your help.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This answer makes the best sense, although I still find the use of "als" a bit strange here. But I can't really see what else it could be. Thanks to everyone who had a go."

disagree Edith Kelly : Just the location or even subsidiary in this case.

I would ignore "Standort" which is substituted by "in"
