Spanish term
trabajo
¿Cuál es el término apropiado para un trabajo académico de desarrollo que implica citas, imágenes, etc.? Parecido a una tesina, pero sin serlo, en español he escuchado el término "paper", pero no sé si sirve en inglés. ¿Alguna sugerencia? ¿Paper? ¿work?
Muchas gracias!!

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

paper, academic paper academic presentation
Abraal:
You are right. The most common term is: “paper” or “academic paper” or “research paper”.
Some institutions talks about: “academic presentations”, “academic proposals” (when they include “a proposal”) or “academic theses” when the authors present a thesis to receive a feed-back from the members of an academic community.
Thank you,
Domingo

I would like to rewrite my title because I see typing errors:
paper, academic paper, academic presentation, research paper, academic thesis.

Discussion
In British and Irish English, just for the record, "paper" is sometimes used too, but other terms are more common. The classic word is "essay", and especially "extended essay", the standard term in the International Baccalaureate, widely used elsewhere too, or "project" or "coursework project"; the latter particularly if it is assessed and counts towards the overall course mark (grade). The word "project" covers "trabajos" in any area, including art or mathematics, for example, where it may not be a piece of writing, or not exclusively.
