When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Assessments (interim and annual)
Yes, that's a definite runner! |
Thanks Terry. Perhaps closest to the rather vague context. |

: "interim and annual accounts". I think "interim" is good; as with "mi-parcours", "mi" suggests half, but "parcours" is not technical. It does not say "semestriel" for example. "Interim" works well.

"mid-year and annual reports"
Thanks Forti. I'm deliberately leaving it a bit vague - see discussion. |

: yes for reports, but mid-year of what year? calendar year, academic year, fiscal year? the ST just says "halfway" no need to try guessing of what it's the half

halfway and annual reports
halfway and annual summary reports
"le bilan" here is more a report on what was done with the funds allocated, similar use as in "faire le bilan d'une activité ou d'un projet spécifique" not "le bilan" as used in accounting for commercial entities
Thanks Daryo. I've decided it's primarily a program assessment - see discussion. |

: I refrained from commenting earlier BUT since you feel the need to comment on everyone else's well, let me just say this doesn't look like English at all... "Halfway" to where??

well, I think you don't need to, at all.
Thanks Yvonne. Given the (lack of) context, I decided to fudge! |

Daryo
: "balance sheet" is used for "le bilan annuel d'une société" doesn't really make sense for reporting what was done with a school funding grant

... And why not? Nothing strange about it. Schools have to manage accounts, just like any other company

annual and mid-term reviews
Thanks WORDINDUSTRY. My reading finally was that they are reviews (of which balance sheets are just one component). |
Discussion
There is absolutely no mention of when the "interim" review takes place, and the ST is about putting basic procedures in place, so I think in practice it's most likely it's vaguely mid-term. On reflection, I'd use mid-term except that this relates to a school, so it wouldn't be read a mid-term in the program.
I'm going to use "mid-way assessment" which hopefully covers the bases.
