Años 1930. Dos amantes de clase social alta. La mujer se enfada con el hombre y al día siguiente este va a casa de ella para convencerla de que continúen su relación. La mujer le recibe a regañadientes y le dice que diga lo que tenga que decir y luego se vaya para siempre, que no va a volver a salir con él. Él interviene así:
