I have no idea what this means. Here's the paragraph:

"...lo que significa que a los contendientes, ante una actitud u omisión del árgano jurisdiccional que les perudique, les compete actuar, promover y gestionar con más atención y cuidado, en el momento procesal oportuno, que sus pruebas sean admmitidas y desahogadas, buscando con ellos que sus peticiones se satisfagan para inclinar el ánimo del juzgador y así lograr posiciones favorables ante la parte contraria"

Ok, is it me or is this suggesting that the Judge can be influenced to get a decision on one's favor? Aren't judges supposed to be imparcial?

@ asker IMO, the text states that that's what parties try to do "to gain the favor" of the judge.

I like this wording. I don't believe it's anything negative, just trying to win the argument or case.

There's no ambiguity. The translation of "which way" falls on the next segment: "y así lograr posiciones favorables."

I presume that we are talking of legit arguments in court which are better than those of the opposing side.

Spelling = ... perjudique ... and ... admitidas ...

I think the point here is to present a good case, not that the judge/arbitrator is going to be unduly influenced, rather more be more inclined to listen to a clearly presented case.

I actually think that "persuade" is best, I was merely trying to put another perspective on it. I don't think it merited a negative comment, but I could be wrong

agree Richard Boulter : I like this wording best. Regarding the 'impartiality', the judge must ENTER the proceeding impartially and be persuaded in his judgement by the facts presented and interpretations of law that are argued by the parties.
