perfumery research report
I would appreciate input from someone in the field. I know 'artisan' is used more and more often but wonder if something with 'craft' would sound more natural. One brand cited in this fragrance sector is...Artisan Perfumeur (!).

hand-crafted luxury (fragrances/items)
Or simply artisan luxe. 'Luxe' being a very popular calque in English in the fashion industry at the moment.

: Not agreeing or disagreeing, but I came across "luxe" in this context recently, and thought it looked weird.

It's very common in fashion blogs and is usually accompanied by a pronunciation tip - Luxe (pronounced 'looks') :)

fine hand-made products
It is approximate... but these is how I would put it, given the sentence you quote:

artisanal luxury
Looks to me like this is the term in the luxury goods market.

Of course this may simply be referring to the 'traditional luxury goods' market.

(all) the luxury of a craftsman-made product
In order for us to help you in this sort of context, it's really vital to give us the surrounding context in the source language.

This accusation of gender issues has been discussed at length before, and I rather think it reflects PC gone mad.
While I totally agree that if it were expressed as 'made by a craftsman' there would be a clear gender issue, in compound words like 'craftsmanship' and 'craftsman-made', it is simply not possible to re-write these in PC-ese! By their very nature, these compound words do not emphasis the gender aspect of -man, but in general terms, those desirable qualities inherent in things that are made by crafts-people.
Almost certainly, I'd say, in a quality perfume house, there will be both men and women involved, and I really don't think any but the most perverse advocates of PC can object to the sort of terms I'm referring to.

Note from asker:
my posting is a heading and describes a type of luxury fragrance |
this is the only time the term 'luxe artisanal' appears. |
to writeaway. I have found quite a few references to '(hand-)crafted fragrances', but wanted to check if artisan/artisantal is taking hold |
yes I will avoid any gender bias |

: here we go again with artisan/artisanal. as you say we need to see the actual text since there are umpteen ways to express this. personally don't really know if craftsman-made fits in all that well with perfumes

Thanks, I agree! I think Asker's mention of '(hand-)crafted' is along the right lines, we might talk of a craftsman-perfumier — certainly not 'cottage industry' (just a soupçon of manure?) :-))

: Sorry Tony, totally agree with Phil, and feeling excluded/insulted because of ongoing language discrimination is hardly "PC gone mad"! It's always possible to find a way round: "hand-crafted" would work here /I use "artisanal" here, fits tone and context

Thanks, Philippa! Hand-crafted won't really work for something like perfume, which you don't craft with your hands; and it doesn't necessarily convey quite the same notion of craftsmanship...

luxury hand-crafted products
Hello
I go along with certain other suggestions that the clients concerned are really interested in the products (and not luxury per se)
Therefore, I prefer the three suggestions were the answers were least certain.
This is just another variant on their ideas.
