The WILL to power as described my Nietzche was taken over by the world of sports, quickly becoming a A WILL TO SUCCEED because winning the race did not necessarily confer power on the winner. It was probably this CRAVING FOR SUCCESS that drove many atheletes to adopt new types of training schemes from rock climbing and tight rope walking to control fear to eating special foods to increase their muscle mass. The big issue then became MOTIVATION. To boost that factor, many subjected themselves to brutal regimes of self-questioning using specially trained gurus who grilled them for hours about their motives for wanting to become champions in the first place. Those left standing after these three-day retreat schemes were declared by their coaches to possess the URGE TO TRIUMPH, possing enough DRIVE to stay the physical and mental course resulting in a STRONG COMMITMENT to the qualities required to WIN in a world dominated more by oddly fangled techniques and fads than a simple and overwhelming desire to be a winner.....
