和freelance agent打交道应该注意什么

最近有一位英国的freelance agent找到我帮客户翻译一份资料，谈得挺顺利，可是我心里有点没底。这是我第一次核freelance agent打交道，请问我应该向他索取什么信息呢？或者有没有什么方式可以保证他最后会付钱。我只有他的名字和电子邮件地址。因为这份资料的字数还算比较多，我不想自己辛辛苦苦到最后却是做了白工。谢谢。

我也不太明白，他是这么自我介绍的。我感觉是个体中介，因为并没注册公司，所以叫做freelance。
