the appearance of the first issue of...

I thought about the more literal translation (seeing light of day etc) and I don't think that phrase was intended to be anything more than utilitarian. I would go for a basic rendition here.

agree Philippa Hammond : I agree, or 'on publication of the first issue of'/'when the first issue of [...] was published

yes, good improvement

agree kjmcguire : I think Phillipa's suggestion of 'when the first issue..was published' is a good one. It seems a little less clumsy than 'the appearance of the first issue'

seeing the light of day

with the first number of the Magazine XXX seeing the light of day

or less "poetic"" with the issue of the first number of ...
Peer comment(s):

agree Gad Kohenov : The second solution is solid and appropriate. Seeing the light of day is more for a recien nacido.

agree franglish : with desertfox. "with the appearance of the first issue of..." also possible
41 mins
agree Joseph Tein : agree with 'with the issue' -- or could also be 'with the publication of the first issue'. NOT the "first number'' -- "issue'" is the best translation for 'numero' here.

I would be tempted to use the term 'to launch' - this is the way the appearance/publication of new magazines is usually referred to.

The definition of " come to light" in the Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English is the same as "be brought to light". If new information comes to light, it becomes known.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Patrice : "came to light" means "was discovered"

Thanks anyway, Patrice. I looked it up in the Dictionary, the explanation is above.
