Certified as a philologist. Instructor specializing in Foreign Philology
Although the term "Foreign Philology" sounds a bit strange. Is it meant to refer to languages outside the USSR/Russia? It's hard to believe the science itself is considered markedly different inside and outside Russia.

You know, after all this I went to my (1979) unabridged Webster\'s (meaning, American
usage) Dictionary and under the entry for philology it noted \"3. linguistics. the current use\",
although the entry for linguistics made no cross-reference to philology.
Indeed, \"lecturer\" is an academic title in the U.K. and (at least) Australia; in the U.S. it\'s
only a general term, not a title. In the U.S. the lowest rung on the academic scale in colleges is usually \"instructor\".

Слова - "зарубежная филология". Смысл - "преподаватель иностранных языков". Поэтому предлагаю такой перевод:
...Awarded the qualification of a philologist. (Или - has quaklified as a philologist.). Teacher specializing in foreign language teaching.
По поводу "учитель - преподаватель": разве университетских преподавателей не называют teacher на английском?

: "Университетский преподаватель" я перевожу как "тьютор" (он же - домашний репетитор, и сам себя так называю). Все твои версии хороши и мне нравятся. Первая - более торжественная, как мне кажется, подходит именно для диплома. Вторая - и для синхрона.

Что касается языковедения, то мой преподаватель по языкознанию в университете всегда говорил, что понятия "языкознание", "языковедение" и "лингвистика" - синонимы. Поэтому можно перевести Linguistics.

: Во многом согласен с YelenaM. По-моему выбор лежит в сфере "lecturer"/ "tutor". (Это даже обладателю диплома придаёт больше престижа, чем просто "teacher").
